Beowulf is a fierce warrior, chieftain of the Danes and commander of the barbarians. He wields Death-Biter, the undefeatable hammer and seeks to make his tale known across the world by killing The Spartan. He has little respect for the villagers he oppresses, calling them "diggers in the mud". He has even less respect for The Spartan, dismissing him for his desire to protect the villagers. He also appears to have a form of magical power, as evidenced by the fires he produces during his two duels with The Spartan, and his command of the "Gigantes" (Giants).
